Nexus 7 Case by Treegloo – FAQ

We’ve had a great response to our Nexus 7 cases, thanks! Here are details and Frequently Asked Questions about what to expect from your handmade, custom Nexus 7 case:

Does your Nexus 7 case have the smart cover sleep/wake function?
Yes! All of our Nexus 7 cases come with the sleep/wake function.

Is there a cutout for the speaker on the back of the Nexus 7?
Yes. We put a lot of R&D into our case designs, and making sure the speaker worked well was a high priority. The speaker aligns with the bottom ledge of the frame, which helps direct the sound toward the user through the bottom port. It actually sounds better in the frame than when it’s sitting on its own.

How do I access the Nexus 7′s volume and power buttons?
Our signature reverse side port as on our iPad cases allow for easy access to all of the buttons, as well as maintaining the strength of the frame.

Does your Nexus 7 case come with a stand?
All of our Nexus 7 cases have the ability to stand for video viewing, as well as a slight typing angle. For another option, our Kinetic Latch will lock the stand in place for video viewing, serve as a much higher typing angle.

What are the dimensions for the Nexus 7 case?
Total dimensions are: 5.25″ x 8.0″ x 0.875″

How much does your Nexus 7 case weigh?
Average weight is between 4-6 oz, depending on the options ordered.

Is the case bulky?
It fits very comfortably in hand. The height of the frame is only 0.1″ larger than the height of the Nexus 7 device.

Made in the USA – Google’s Nexus Q

Google IO 2012 launched yesterday, and kicked off the day with a thoroughly impressive keynote. Among the launches of the expected tablet and a demo of Google Glass, was an entirely new product that most of us didn’t see coming: the Nexus Q, Google’s answer to streaming audio, video, and so much more.

The Nexus Q will be competing against Apple TV and Microsoft with this social streaming device, but one of the most impressive things about Q is that is was designed and manufactured in the USA.

Kudos to Google! We’re proud to support others that work hard to keep the manufacturing process here in the States.

Confessions of a Traveling iPad

Horror stories have roamed around about iPads mistakenly being left behind, but this story has an unexpected and happy ending. On January 31, 2012, Anthony DeRosa lost his iPad in a New York City taxi cab, then tracked it over the next day and amazing recovered it completely intact.

The circumstances were incredible. DeRosa left his iPad in his Treegloo case on the roof of the NYC cab, and it bravely traveled on the roof for six blocks until the driver noticed there was something on amiss.  Although we designed our cases to have more grip on smooth surfaces, we had not expected the case to cling for dear life to the roof of a moving vehicle.

After using Find My iPhone, tracking the iPad via GPS, and calling the cab company, DeRosa was reunited with his iPad the following day.

The story unraveled via Twitter in a series of entertaining posts. Read the entire chain on Storify, created by @producermatt
